
Hitachi has launched its second generation power efficient enterprise hard drive, Ultrastar C10K300, which boosts higher server and storage density. It is Hitachi’s first enterprise-class hard drive aimed at delivering in an idle power specification of 3.4 watts and 6.1 watts in active operating mode.
As the reviews, the 2.5-inch storage drive occupies 70 percent less physical space and consumes 65 percent less power in comparison to 3.5 inch enterprise drives. Featuring 147 GB and 300 GB storage capacities, the Hitachi Ultrastar C10K300 is ideal for rack-mounted servers and networked storage arrays. It also features a dual-port 6Gb/s Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) interface that delivers 100 percent faster data than its 3Gb/s predecessor. Read the rest of this entry »
