Verizon Wireless intros Network Extender

Verizon Wireless has announced the unveiling of their latest Network Extender, which, the company claims, boasts of allowing users to take pleasure in house calls. Created by Samsung, the extender is aimed at improving the wireless call coverage when users are in their homes or at any other locations and structures that is likely to get in the way of call reception.

Adobe Release Candidates – Camera Raw 5.3 and Lightroom 2.3

The tech world is swarming with the release of Adobe’s Photoshop Lightroom 2.3 and Photoshop Camera Raw 5.3 Release Candidates, which are immediately made available for downloading from Adobe Labs at http://labs.adobe.com. In keeping with its standing in IT circles, the software giant has carried out tests on the updates to make it foolproof in terms of the quality. The ‘release candidate’ tag is indicative of the fact that the update is well-tested ahead of launch. However, the Imaging giant wants the product to get through additional community testing before it is ready for mass distribution among its clientele.

Meme Incorporated rolls out Snapper1.0 Application for the iPhone

Option Wireless has launched its AT&T USBConnect Quicksilver, by which you can connect your laptop to AT&T’s high-speed HSDPA network in the fastest way possible. The device is extremely fast, extremely compact, user friendly and compatible across the whole world. This device is lot smaller and better than the previous AT&T USBConnect 881 by Sierra Wireless. The device just measures 0.7 by 0.9 by 2.5 inches. It weighs a mere 1.2 ounces. The case of the device pivots around the Quicksilver’s USB port. The Quicksilver houses an easy to access SIM slot directly above the USB jack. The device lacks a microSD card reader, an external antenna port and indicator lights.

Downadup – A Windows threat affecting 3.5 million workstations so far

Downadup or Conficker is a new name in the list of viruses, which targets the Microsoft Windows XP workstations. A very popular name in the antivirus companies, F-Secure stated in a report this week that about 3.5 million computers have been infected by this new Windows threat. Taking advantage of a Windows flaw, Downadup managed to spread so adversely in the remote computers. Microsoft Security Update MS08-067, a patch to remove this vulnerability was launched in last October by Microsoft, but undoubtedly the worm is active enough to track the unpatched Windows workstations and infected all.
